Ian McDougall is a diving instructor with huge experience and works with Diving Adventures Scotland. Here is a little about Ian in his own words.
Hi, my name is Ian McDougall and I started diving at the age of fifty two while on holiday in Cyprus. On return to Scotland I did my Open water course at Loch Long and my Instructor was Chris Ferguson. In quick succession I completed my advanced open water and my rescue course in Scotland. In 2014 I retired from my 35 year career as a store manager with Tesco and went to live in Cyprus for three months. While out there I completed my Dive master course and on my 56th birthday, I became a PADI Open Water instructor and EFR Instructor. I celebrated this by having a beautiful 40m dive the following day on the Zenobia wreck,in Larnaca.
While in Cyprus, I completed some Instructor specialities courses including, Wreck, Deep, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drysuit, Oxygen Provider, Nitrox.Project Aware and Equipment. On return to Scotland I went straight into an instructor role at Divebunker Ltd,Burntisland and spent two full seasons with them.
On June 2016, PADI awarded me the position of Master Scuba Diver Trainer for achieving 500 dives and certifying nearly 100 divers across all courses,Discover Scuba,Open Water, Advanced Open Water and Rescue. I have a passion for diving and teaching and look forward to meeting, training and diving with you.
